but with a grass roots approach! With help from partners

The Kansas City Star/Preview bandsacrosskansascity.com is the place
for Kansas City Artists, Local Music Fans and Venues!
Kansas City Music Lovers can search
for local music by genre and/or artist name, add themselves to "fan
lists", listen to tracks, view band information and genre based "Event
Calendars" to find out when and where their favorite local artist(s)
are playing.
Artists have full control over the
content they want to post: bios, tracks, upcoming events, photos, classifieds
and more.Profiles may be updated at any time and artists can also access
their own fan lists! Sign-up is FREE.

Bands Across Kansas City also helps artists promote themselves. A wide
variety of creative marketing services are available: web site design/hosting,
electronic media kits, print materials, e-mail marketing campaigns and

Artists who are interested in gaining even more exposure can register
and particiapte in Kansas City's Local Music Playoffs. This year's all
ages show will be held on Saturday, November 25th at the Uptown Theater,
so mark your calendars!

Creative Resource Company”. The organization hosts the yearly Kansas
City Local Music Playoffs to benefit HarmonyNCCJ.
What is HarmonyNCCJ?
Kansas City Harmony and The National Conference for Community and Justice
(NCCJ) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating
bigotry, bias and racism in our community. With 75 years of service nationally
and 52 years locally, HarmonyNCCJ has impacted the lives of hundreds of
thousands of youth through such programs as Anytown, Unitown and Collegetown.

Kansas City's Local Music Playoffs
The yearly competition is open to all bands of all musical genres from
cities in and around the Kansas City area. Bands must submit two
original demo tracks to be judged by a panel of music/entertainment/media
industry professionals. Finalists in 6 specified genres then perform/compete
for judge and crowd votes at the "Local Music Playoffs". Artists
are awarded cash and prizes. For more information on this year's event
